+ When battling a Gym Leader, 5 TOTAL POKEMON are to be used, not the standard 3. ALL of the Gym Leaders will fight with 3/5 Pokemon that the Gym element is, and the other 2 can be chosen at random. Example: If you are fighting the gym leader of Fomen, they are going to have 3 water Pokemon, and 2 "other" Pokemon.
+ Gym Leaders ALWAYS go first. This way they have the upper hand, and they are more difficult to beat. You have to EARN your badges.
+ DO NOT complain if you lose against a Gym Leader. They are Gym Leaders for a reason, they are very difficult to beat, even the lowest of the ranks.
+ Make sure BEFORE you challenge a Gym Leader, you have all of the Pokemon you want to battle with, and which Pokemon you think you have the best fighting chance with. Gym Leaders do not quit, and they do not show mercy. They are fighting for their title, just as YOU are fighting for their badge. When posting in the Gym that you wish to challenge, MAKE SURE that you put in the topic title, "CHALLENGE: (whatever else you want to say)", but MAKE SURE "CHALLENGE" IS IN THE TITLE. You'll get to your battle quicker if the Gym Leader knows there is someone waiting to fight them.
The Ranking System
X: Almost every beginning Pokemon Trainer can beat this level of Gym Leader, IF they and their Pokemon are friends and have been together for a little while.
They usually lose 49/50 battles.
XX: Friendship between you and your Pokemon is key when battling this rank of Gym leader. They are somewhat easy, but do put up a tougher fight against the a normal "X" gym leader. You can walk away with a gym badge only somewhat easily.
They usually lose 37/50 battles.
XXX: You have a 50/50 chance to beat this rank of gym leader. This rank is where it starts to get more and more difficult to beat the Gym leaders and get badges.
They usually lose 25/50 battles.
XXXX: This rank of Gym leader is always eager to beat the next challenger. Being the second harest rank to beat, they always put up a good fight, and difficult fight.
They usually lose 20/50 battles.
XXXXX: Very difficult to beat. The hardest of all the Gym leaders are this rank, and they show no mercy to any trainer that comes to their doorstep.
They usually lose 10/50 battles.
XO: The Elite Four are extremely difficult to beat. Very rarely a Pokemon Trainer or Master will come out of here with a victory. Don't be mad if you get beat by one or all of them, it takes a few tries and hard training to beat these four.
They usually lose 1/50 battles.
The following is a list of all of the Gym Leaders, a link to their profile, where they are located, their rank of difficulty, and the Pokemon they have to battle with.
